Connecticut Hall was built in 1750, it is the oldest building in the city of New Haven. Originally a dormitory of Yale freshman, the Hall has housed such famous Yalies as Nathan Hale, Samuel Morse, William Howard Taft, Noah Webster and Eli Whitney. The building, no longer used a dormitory, now is home to Yale's Philosophy and Literature Departments.
