| Nantucket
Island is located 30 miles off the coast of Massachucetts.
The Island is 14.5 miles by 3.5 miles, first settled
in 1659 by English families. Nantucket was once
the busiest and most prosperous whaling port in
the world. Now the harbor has one of the finest
docking facilities on the east coast.
Travelers
are drawn to the white sandy beaches, pounding surf
of the Atlantic Ocean, fishing, sailboating, windsurfing,
museums, restaurants, hotels, or cottage rentals
to name just a few of the attractions. Many might
think Nantucket is a summer getaway but to visit
during the off season months can be a very special
treat as well. |
