Yale's Cross Campus with a view of the magnificent Sterling Memorial Library, built to resemble a huge Gothic cathedral. The library comprises spacious and high-ceilinged reading rooms, exhibition areas, a courtyard, service and administrative areas, and of course, stacks. The main entrance of the library faces an open space flanked by residential colleges and classrooms. On warm, late summer days and balmy spring afternoons, Cross Campus becomes the favorite spot for volleyball enthusiasts and for those who enjoy studying and basking in the sun at the same time. Each spring, students turn out in force to see a famous band perform at Spring Fling.
